How does Fruggr work?
Fruggr automatically connects to your company’s IT systems—such as digital services, cloud environments, IT fleet management, infrastructure and networks, and digital workplaces—through secure, native connectors. This automated data collection provides a comprehensive, real-time analysis of your entire digital ecosystem.
Once connected, Fruggr delivers detailed insights into your IT performance and its environmental and social impacts. You’ll receive clear performance scores, as well as precise data on energy and water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and their associated financial costs.
Depending on the modules activated, Fruggr’s assessments cover three key dimensions:
- Environmental impact: carbon footprint of IT equipment, data centers, networks, and digital services.
- Social impact: accessibility, data protection, digital inclusion.
- Efficiency: resource efficiency and overall sustainability of your digital services.
Finally, Fruggr translates this data into concrete, prioritized recommendations tailored to your organization—turning complex data into clear, actionable steps to improve performance and reduce costs.
What does Fruggr analyze?
Fruggr provides a comprehensive analysis across all key aspects of Sustainable IT performance, including:
Sustainable IT Maturity: Evaluation of your organization’s maturity and practices in Sustainable IT, with tracking of key ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) indicators.
Digital Services: Analysis of URLs, source code, and usage data to measure technical performance, efficiency, and environmental impact.
IT Infrastructure: Evaluation of data centers, servers, and networks, including economic impact, carbon footprint, and energy consumption.
IT Equipment: Assessment of hardware (computers, servers, peripherals) for environmental impact, lifespan, costs, and compliance.
Accessibility: Verification of compliance with accessibility standards (RGAA, WCAG) to promote digital inclusion.
Digital Workplace: Measurement of the carbon footprint linked to employee digital practices—especially within Microsoft 365—such as email usage, cloud storage, and video conferencing. This module also offers online training to raise employee awareness.
How are environmental footprints calculated?
Fruggr uses different calculation methods tailored to the specific areas of your digital ecosystem (digital services, IT infrastructure, IT equipment, and digital workplaces). These methodologies have been developed by our in-house doctor in Sustainable IT within our R&D team and are reviewed by an external committee of experts from Hubblo to ensure accuracy and reliability.
For digital services specifically, Fruggr applies a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)-based approach designed for the digital sector. This includes:
- Automated data collection via crawlers and analytics data.
- Environmental impact assessment across end-user devices, networks, and data centers, using standardized calculation methods and trusted sources like The Green Web Foundation, Ember, Cloud Carbon Coefficients, and ADEME’s “Base Empreinte.”
- An environmental score from 0 to 100 to evaluate eco-design quality.
For the rest of your digital environment (infrastructure, equipment, digital workplace), Fruggr applies adapted models to evaluate operational impacts (GHG emissions, energy and water consumption) as well as the financial impact of resource consumption.
Finally, Fruggr translates these insights into clear recommendations to reduce environmental impacts—ensuring your Sustainable IT strategy is both measurable and actionable.
What are the frames of reference on which Fruggr bases its analysis?
To assess the environmental impact of your various digital services or functional units, Fruggr relies on the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. As of today, “life cycle analysis is the most advanced tool for comprehensive, multi-criteria environmental impact assessment” (source: ADEME).
To ensure greater accuracy and consistency in the scores calculated by Fruggr, we also use trusted external references, including:
- The Green Web Foundation: an organization that identifies and promotes websites powered by renewable energy.
- Ember: a platform providing detailed data on national energy mixes, helping to assess carbon footprints and support sustainable decisions.
- ADEME’s “Base Empreinte”: a database offering environmental indicators and data to evaluate the impact of human activities.
- Cloud carbon coefficients: metrics used to estimate the carbon footprint of cloud-based services and operations.
By combining these various resources, Fruggr delivers analyses that closely reflect real-world environmental impacts.
How are recommendations sorted?
By default, Fruggr’s recommendations are sorted by “impact”—prioritizing actions that will have the greatest influence on your Fruggr score and ESG performance indicators.
For recommendations in the “Environment” category, you can also sort by potential score gain. This metric estimates the theoretical score increase that would result from implementing a specific recommendation, helping you prioritize actions with the highest return on impact.
If the potential score gain is displayed as “–”, you can re-run an analysis to let Fruggr’s engine calculate the updated potential gain for that recommendation.
Each recommendation also includes a minimum threshold: once this threshold is met, the recommendation disappears and your Fruggr score is adjusted by the indicated potential gain—ensuring your improvement efforts are clear, measurable, and actionable.
How much is Fruggr?
The cost of Fruggr depends on your organization’s specific needs, including the scope of your IT systems and the modules you choose to activate. Monthly pricing typically starts at €500 for smaller scopes, while more comprehensive projects generally begin at €2,000 per month.
